Gary M. McDonald

Leading the charge at McDonald Law, PLLC, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is attorney Gary M. McDonald. After completing his B.A. at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Mr. McDonald earned his J.D. from the same institution's School of Law, where he contributed to the Arkansas Law Review. Licensed in Oklahoma since 1975, he has also been licensed in Arkansas and has practiced before all U.S. District Courts for the District of Oklahoma, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd and 10th Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His contributions to the legal field include serving on committees to revise local rules and acting as a court-appointed Special Master, occasionally aiding in court-requested mediations.

With over four decades of legal practice, Mr. McDonald has represented diverse entities like investors, creditors, lenders and debtors across industries such as automotive manufacturing, aviation, grocery retail and wholesale distribution. He has achieved significant milestones in Chapter 11 cases, advocating for creditors’ committees in cases like Sheffield Steel, J.P. EMCO, Camrose Technologies and Hale-Halsell Company.

A revered figure in the legal realm, Mr. McDonald is a member of the Oklahoma and Tulsa County Bar Associations and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for his work in bankruptcy law and creditors’ rights from 1987 to 2022 and banking litigation from 2012 to 2022, as well as earning an AV peer-review rating* through Martindale-Hubbell. His insights are sought after as a seminar lecturer and keynote speaker at events such as the MidCon Expo '09 Oil and Gas Conference in Oklahoma City.
