Anna P. Sammons

Anna P. Sammons is a top-rated criminal defense and civil rights attorney in Eugene, Oregon, selected to Super Lawyers 2021–2026. She represents clients statewide in serious criminal matters, Title IX proceedings, sex offender registration cases and appeals. Clients frequently include professionals, academics, and students confronting high-stakes, reputation-impacting allegations. Ms. Sammons earned her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Chicago and has practiced law since 2004. She began her career in New York City at Brooklyn Defender Services as a trial-level public defender, later serving as appellate counsel at Appellate Advocates, where she handled complex sex offense appeals, sex offender registration matters, and post-conviction relief, before moving to Oregon and founding her own practice. Before law school, Ms. Sammons worked as a case manager and mental health counselor, and during her time at law school, she participated in the Mental Health Law Project.
