Sonya G. Fischer

An attorney at Fischer Family Law, PC, Sonya G. Fischer represents clients in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Her practice focuses on family law matters such as divorce, grandparents’ third-party rights, child custody, modification of spousal or child support, dissolution of domestic partnership, special education, juvenile law, guardianships, government relations and simple wills. Passionate about helping those with disabilities, she has worked extensively with the Oregon Council on Developmental Disabilities during her career.

Ms. Fischer attended Warner Pacific College, where she earned an undergraduate degree. She then moved on to Portland State University, where she received a Master of Public Education. Almost a decade later, she decided to return to school to earn a law degree and graduated with her Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, where she earned many honors for academics.

A former intern for a state senator, Ms. Fischer also worked as director for state and legislative federal affairs at the Oregon Department of Human Services. Her pro bono and volunteer work include time as a board member for Disability Rights Oregon, the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce, and the Policy Committee for FACT: Family and Community Together.

A former secretary of the Clackamas County Bar Association, Ms. Fischer also served as the president of the Clackamas Women Lawyers. She is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Oregon Association of Collaborative Professionals, the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practitioners, the Oregon State Bar, the Oregon Women Lawyers and the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association.
