Ashley A. Marton

Ashley Marton is a managing partner at the law firm of Cambreleng & Marton located in Portland, Oregon. Her practice mostly consists of defending workers against sexual harassment, discrimination in the workplace, and retaliation against whistleblowers. She also represents workers in negotiations about employment contracts and severance pay. She frequently deals with situations involving strict noncompete and nonsolicitation clauses.

Ms. Marton is committed to making sure employees are treated fairly and respectably when they are on the job. She represents the interests of her employee clients with fervor and tenacity and has been rated an “Excellent” on Avvo along with many positive reviews from her satisfied clients.

A cum laude graduate of Arizona State University, Ms. Marton received her bachelor’s degree in political science and history. She also studied a semester abroad in Rome, Athens, Croatia, and Bosnia through the Barrett's Honors College. She pursued her legal studies and attended the Arizona Summit Law School, earning her Juris Doctor in 2011.

While in law school, Ms. Marton was a research and writing editor of the Phoenix Law Review, a teaching assistant at the Phoenix School of Law, a founding vice president of the International Law Society, and an active participant in the moot court competitions. She also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for civil rights discrimination and federal courts.

An enthusiastic member of the legal community, Ms. Marton is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association, the Oregon Women Lawyers, the Oregon State Bar Uniform Civil Jury Instruction Committee, and the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association’s (OTLA) Membership Section, New Lawyers Section and Legislative Leadership Committee. She also served as the former co-chair of the OTLA’s Employment Section.

Ms. Marton has written extensively and has had her articles published in the Arizona Attorney magazine and co-authored the chapter on whistleblowing in the Arizona Employment Law Handbook. In OTLA's Sidebar publication, she was also highlighted in the Guardian Spotlight section. Ms. Marton is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Arizona, and New York; the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and District of Arizona; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
