Earning his law degree cum laude in 1994, he passed the bar and gained his license to practice law in Oregon the same year, and in Washington in 1996.

Mr. Chenoweth later gained admission before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
