David T. McDonald

Attorney David T. McDonald founded his Portland law office, Sherlag | De Muniz LLP, to provide the people of the Portland area, all of Oregon and the Western District of Washington state with high-quality criminal defense services. Mr. McDonald represents clients who face charges for a wide range of criminal offenses, including federal and state felony crimes, sex crimes, while collar crimes, violent crimes, robbery and burglary, assault, manslaughter, and drug and alcohol crimes.

Mr. McDonald began his legal career in 1986 after earning his Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School and his admission to the Oregon State Bar. In 1989, the Washington State Bar Association followed suit and approved him to practice law in its courtrooms as well. In addition, Mr. McDonald has the approval to practice in the federal courts in Washington and Oregon, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the Washington and Oregon state appellate courts, the Oregon Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Over the past nearly 30 years, attorney McDonald has earned much recognition for his legal abilities from both his peers and his clients. He holds a "Superb" Avvo rating, and Best Lawyers* has listed him among the nation's top criminal defense attorneys repeatedly. In addition to being a valuable ally in the courtroom, Mr. McDonald is also an active member of a number of local, state and national legal organizations. He served as vice president of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and he also served on the association's board of directors.
