Erin Morris is the founding partner of the premier Portland-based law firm, Morris Family Law LLC. Erin Morris focuses her practice exclusively in the areas of divorce and family law matters. She has been admitted to practice before all Oregon state courts since 2012, and in the state of Washington since 2018. Erin has over eleven years of Oregon family law litigation experience, and is recognized by her peers as a leader in the Oregon family law community.
Ms. Morris handles a variety of family law matters for her clients with compassion and zealous advocacy. Erin specializes in a variety of Oregon family law arenas, including divorce and related issues of custody and parenting time, the division of what are often complex marital assets and financial obligations, as well as issues surrounding child and spousal support and parenting time matters. Erin is also regularly appointed by prominent Oregon family law judges throughout the state to represent minor children who are the subject of high-conflict custody and parenting time battles.
Working with her clients to identify their primary goals and needs, Ms. Morris crafts her advocacy with those goals squarely in mind. When contested litigation proves necessary, Erin has a reputation for fierce advocacy on behalf of her clients in the courtroom. Nevertheless, she is equally skilled at identifying and pursuing equitable and collaborative resolution outside of court by taking the lead in settlement negotiations through mediation and other paths to collaborative conflict resolution.
Ms. Morris also regularly prepares and reviews prenuptial and postmarital agreements, and her family law caseload includes helping clients post-divorce who are now seeking modification of an existing child or spousal support order or modification or enforcement of parenting time and custody orders. Her practice also includes the representation of grandparents and other third-party caregivers pursuing custody and visitation rights with children as well as contested guardianship proceedings for minor children.
Completing her undergraduate degree at the University of San Francisco, Ms. Morris spent a semester as a visiting student at American University in Washington, D.C., studying international relations and legal systems, receiving her Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 2007. She subsequently enrolled at Willamette University College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2012.
