James Rehwaldt

James Rehwaldt is an attorney in Keller Rohrback’s Portland office, where their practice focuses on complex litigation and class actions that drive public impact.

With a background rooted in environmental advocacy, James is committed to holding corporate actors accountable for harms to the environment, consumers, and public health.

Originally from a rural coastal town in Northern California, James’s upbringing among such pristine wilderness shaped a lifelong dedication to environmental justice. After earning their bachelor’s degrees from St. Olaf College, they worked in grassroots environmental advocacy and public outreach for renewable energy programs. Seeking to learn how to use more impactful tools for systemic change, James earned their J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2022.

James clerked for both the Multnomah County Circuit Court and the Oregon Supreme Court, where they gained valuable insight into the judicial process and the evolving challenges of public interest litigation. At Keller Rohrback, James brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to complex litigation, with a focus on environmental protection, consumer rights, and health care accountability.

Outside the office, James enjoys live music, good food, and all the outdoor activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer. They also enjoy tabletop gaming with their friends.
