Attorney Profile

Jane Paulson focuses her practice on representing clients throughout Oregon and Washington in medical malpractice, wrongful death, personal injury and product liability cases. From the Portland law firm of Paulson Coletti Trial Attorneys, P.C., Jane helps wrongfully injured individuals and their families to seek full and fair compensation.

She graduated with her J.D. from the Virginia School of Law in 1990. After working as a law clerk for a federal judge, she went on to gain firsthand insight into the strategies and practices of insurance companies working for an insurance defense firm.

From 1995-2006, Jane served on the Oregon Trial Lawyers board. From 2000-2004, she was honored to serve as one of only two American Association for Justice delegates. From 2004-2005, she was President of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association.

In 2012, Jane became the fifth woman from Oregon to be inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers.  She and her father became one of the few father-daughter pairs in the College.  Membership is by invitation only, to persons who have distinguished themselves in trial practice and who are recognized leaders in their local communities.

In 2015, she became the first woman in Oregon to be President of the Oregon Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA is an invitation only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Jane is the 2015 recipient of the Oregon Women Lawyers' Justice Betty Roberts Award -- which recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to promoting women in the legal profession and in the community.

She is a member of numerous professional associations and the recipient of multiple honors, including being named by Portland Monthly magazine as one of Portland's Best Lawyers. As a believer in the importance of giving back to the community, Jane was actively involved and a board member of Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East for years and is currently on the Center For Women's Leadership Board at Portland State University and the Campaign for Equal Justice (the support organization for Oregon's Legal Aid programs).
