Attorney Profile

A partner at Hollander Lebenbaum Gannicott & Patrick, Jovanna L. Patrick divides her practice among workers' compensation matters, personal injury and wrongful death litigation, and professional malpractice. From the firm's office in Portland, Oregon, she provides representation to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area. Ms. Patrick has been admitted to practice before all Oregon state courts since 2011.

In her workers' compensation practice, Ms. Patrick assists people who have been injured on the job and who are seeking their rightful benefits under their employer's insurance coverage. She works with them throughout the process, helping to ensure that the claim is timely filed and contains all necessary documentation, and she provides assistance at subsequent appeals hearings before the state's Workers' Compensation Board in the event that the claim is denied by the employer or its insurer.

Ms. Patrick also represents clients who have incurred economic and noneconomic losses outside of the workplace due to the negligence of other persons or entities. The types of cases that she has handled in this regard have arisen out of incidents involving premises liability, motor vehicle crashes, defective products, and auto-pedestrian accidents, and she has been able to obtain significant compensation for her clients. Ms. Patrick's experience in this regard also extends to professional negligence committed by attorneys or health care practitioners that has resulted in harm to her clients.

Fluent in Spanish as well as English, Ms. Patrick majored in history and communications at Lewis & Clark College in Portland and received a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in 2005. She then pursued her legal education at Lewis & Clark Law School and obtained her Juris Doctor in 2010. Ms. Patrick serves on the executive committee of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Oregon State Bar and is active in other legal organizations.
