A former small business-owner, Julie serves closely-held businesses and individuals, assisting with business, real estate, and employment matters, including: formation and corporate governance; contract drafting and negotiation; business and real estate purchases, sales, redemptions and buyouts; trademark registration; employer-side EEOC employment matters and independent workplace investigations; and business and real estate disputes with an eye toward prompt resolution.
Actively involved in the community, Julie serves as Co-Chair of the Oregon Hispanic Bar Association (OHBA), President-Elect of the Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS) Foundation, and an active board member with Latino Founders. Julie also volunteers with Opportunities for Law in Oregon (OLIO) each year, and is a regular speaker and facilitator for the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber Latino Leadership Program. Fluent in Spanish, she used her bilingualism to provide language interpretation and translation services prior to her legal career. As a student, Julie completed an externship for Oregon Supreme Court’s Chief Justice Walters, an internship for Honorable Magistrate Judge John V. Acosta, and served as a law clerk with the United States Attorney’s Office, as well as with Legal Aid Services of Oregon’s Statewide Low-income Taxpayer Clinic.
