Robert H. Beatty-Walters

Robert Beatty-Walters established his law firm in 2008 to exclusively represent victims of medical malpractice. From the Law Office of Robert Beatty-Walters situated in Portland, he offers compassionate and tenacious legal services to clients in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Over the years, Mr. Beatty-Walters has held several doctors, anesthesiologists, surgeons, dentists, hospitals and other licensed medical professionals accountable for their actions. He has handled a multitude of medical negligence claims involving birth injuries, ER and radiology errors, incorrect pharmaceutical prescriptions, medical equipment failures and failure to diagnose/delayed diagnoses.

After completing his Associate of Applied Science degree at the New Mexico Junior College, School of Nursing, in 1980, Mr. Beatty-Walters graduated with his B.A. with high honors from the University of Texas in 1992. Three years later, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he served as the staff editor of Oregon Law Review. Soon after law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lyle Velure in Lane County, Oregon, for about a year.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Beatty-Walters held an active license for working as a registered nurse in pediatrics, emergency room and neonatal intensive care. For the first five years of his legal practice, he defended doctors and hospitals. Later in 2001, he opted to become a patient advocate instead. His background in health care and as a defense attorney provides him with the necessary understanding to protect his clients and apply diverse knowledge and viewpoints to their situations.

Mr. Beatty-Walters gives back to his legal community through his memberships in professional legal organizations. He was on the board of governors of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and is currently the chair of its Professional Negligence Section.
