Attorney Profile

I believe in doing my very best to achieve a fair resolution of all civil litigation and work tirelessly to achieve that result, whether I am representing a plaintiff, a defendant or acting as an impartial mediator. Since being admitted to the Oregon bar in 1975 I have tried more than 100 personal injury and property damage cases to verdict and arbitrated and mediated many more. I have appeared in state courts throughout most of Oregon and in the US District Court. My firm has always prided itself on being efficient, but thorough, and honest, straightforward, and sincere, traits that judges and jurors appreciate.

My firm has annually collected all civil  personal injury jury verdicts in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas County for in excess of 20 years and as a result we have a very large database which can be searched by attorney, case type and jurisdiction to help evaluate almost any type of injury case. That provides useful information for evaluating and settling cases, although we all agree that the most important factor is whether a particular party is, or is not, believable and likeable.

Because I believe in social justice I am attempting to do more mediations, helping other parties to find a fair and just result. I did my first 36 hours of mediation training in San Francisco in 2012 and immediately started volunteering my mediation services to the Multnomah County Small claims department where I first completed their rigorous training and since have handled more than 70 cases for them. I have now completed more than 200 additional hours of mediation specific training, and am now successfully serving as a Circuit Court mediator. References are provided upon request.

In the Fall of 2016 I joined the Oregon Mediation Association Board of Directors and am continuing to serve in that capacity. I invite you to visit the OMA website at Please check out the many opportunites to volunteer with this great organization and to learn just how broad the mediation umbrella is, including everything from restorative justice, to neighborhood mediating to all forms of facillitation and much more. Glancing through the mediator directory will give you an idea.

Please see our website at for more info on the mediation, evaluation and arbitration services we provide.
