Tammi Caress is the owner of Caress Law, PC, located in Portland, Oregon, and extends her practice to a broad range of practice areas, including estate planning, probate and trust administration, wills, tax law and business law. Garnering valuable experience working with other law firms for over a decade, she founded the firm in 2013 to offer personalized and quality legal service to the people of Oregon.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, Ms. Caress enrolled in New England Law | Boston to complete her Juris Doctor. She went on to obtain her master’s in law with a concentration in estate planning at the University of Miami School of Law. She has been admitted to practice in multiple states – Massachusetts, Washington, New Mexico and Oregon.
Ms. Caress commenced her career in estate planning and probate and trust administration in New Mexico, where she tended to issues of trust and estate law for about six years. She shifted her practice to Oregon, where she worked with a private law firm for about two years before establishing her firm. She finds satisfaction in helping out people during life’s most troubling times, such as mourning a loved one’s death, being caught in disputes over property, having no legal guidance for a business entity formation or passing a legacy on to the next generation.
Using her in-depth knowledge of a variety of legal streams, Ms. Caress assists her clients in choosing from a pick of viable options that are crafted in cohesion with their needs. Years of experience working on various types of cases help her provide credible advice on matters of transferring wealth, managing taxes, business planning, the formation of special-needs trusts and more.
