Thomas K. Coan is a criminal defense attorney in Portland, Oregon, with over 30 years of experience. In 1980, Mr. Coan received a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. After completing his undergraduate studies and prior to attending law school, he worked as an investigator in a public defender’s office. This experience inspired him to become an attorney and in 1988, he received his law degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College, now known as Lewis & Clark Law School.

Upon becoming a licensed attorney, Mr. Coan practiced in areas of law including business litigation, civil rights and fraud, before deciding to focus his practice exclusively on criminal defense. He is dedicated to giving each case and client personal attention and working hard toward the best possible results.
