As chair of the Gross McGinley's Medical Malpractice Defense Group, Howard Sadler Stevens leads a team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff in defending large hospitals and health networks in the greater Lehigh Valley area. Affectionately known as "Doc" to many of his friends and clients, Howard is well versed in complex litigation cases involving medical treatment investigations, including, among other things, surgery, obstetrics, and emergency medicine. 

Howard also serves as Deputy Managing Partner of the firm.

Verdicts/Settlements (Case Results):
  • Howard Stevens successfully defended a case where there were allegations against the Emergency Room, Critical Care/ICU and Hospitalist physicians as well as nurses and CT technicians. The case involved the extravasation/infiltration of contrast resulting in alleged permanent injuries as a result of a compartment syndrome. After a jury trial, all of the defendants were found not to have breached the standard of care and a total defense verdict was entered., 2019
  • Howard Stevens successfully defended a case where two local physicians, with specialties in Internal Medicine and Gyn/Oncology, were named. The case involved inter alia, allegations of failure to properly anti-coagulate a patient, resulting in the amputation of her leg. After trial, defense verdict was achieved for both defendants., 2019
