Details

One of the founding members of Boyd & Early Family Law, Missy Boyd focuses her legal practice exclusively on family law matters. She is based in the firm’s Plymouth Meeting office, and she represents clients throughout the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. First authorized to practice law in the state of Maryland in 1999, she was later licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania in 2001. The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers has certified her as a board-certified family law arbitrator.

Ms. Boyd has helped numerous clients whose marriages have come to an end, advising them on divorce-related issues such as child custody and visitation, the division of complex marital assets, financial obligations, and spousal and child support. She has also assisted several in the preparation and review of prenuptial agreements and adoption matters.

Majoring in sociology, Ms. Boyd graduated cum laude from Washington College in Maryland with her bachelor’s degree in 1996. She then enrolled at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she received several scholarships for her academic achievements and served multiple clerkships before graduating cum laude with her Juris Doctor in 1999.

Regularly appointed on several occasions to act as guardian ad litem on behalf of children who are the subject of high-conflict custody disputes, Ms. Boyd also proactively advocates for children facing neglect and abuse in the juvenile courts.

Ms. Boyd’s work and contribution to the legal community are widely recognized and honored by several organizations. She has been named to The Best Lawyers in America list for several years in a row, and she is also rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell. She was also the recipient of the Montgomery Bar Association's President Award and was named a Top Lawyer by Main Line Today.

An esteemed member of the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project, Ms. Boyd is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She also holds memberships in the American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
