Mildred B. Sweeney

The founder of Sweeney Law Offices, LLC, Mildred B. Sweeney divides her practice primarily between family law matters and estate planning and administration. Located in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, she provides representation to clients throughout Butler, Beaver, and Allegheny counties and other parts of the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania since 1992, Ms. Sweeney is also admitted to practice in Nebraska.

Many of Ms. Sweeney's family law clients are people who are seeing their marriages come to an end and who are thus dealing with such divorce-related issues as property division, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support. A forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, her extensive background in mediation and collaborative law enables her to help many of them reach an accord on those matters through the use of those alternative dispute resolution methods. In her estate planning and administration practice, Ms. Sweeney regularly prepares and reviews wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and financial and health care powers of attorney. She also guides clients through what can be a confusing probate process, and she has handled guardianships for elderly residents as well as for special needs children. She was a social worker for many years before obtaining her Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
