Patrick J. Loughren

Patrick J. Loughren is a trial lawyer who practices with his brother, Matt, in the firm of Loughren, Loughren & Loughren, P.C., which was founded by his father, Louis B. Loughren (1943-2004)  Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law in 1997.  Mr. Loughren was admitted to the practice of law in 1997 and has an active civil trial practice representing plaintiffs in actions involving medical negligence, personal injury, products liability, and insurance bad faith.  Mr. Loughren has tried jury trials in counties across Pennsylvania as well as in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Loughren is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association.  He is a past member of the Board of Governors of PAJ as well as the Duquesne University School of Law Alumni Association (2007-2008)  In 2005, Mr. Loughren was inducted into the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County becoming the organization's youngest member.  That same year, he was selected to Pennsylvania Super Lawyers (www.superlawyer.com), a distinction he received again 18 times between 2007 and 2026, including being selected as a Top 50 Pittsburgh Super Lawyer in 2014, 2020, 2021, 2024, 2025 and 2026.  Mr. Loughren is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a group of trial lawyers who have won million dollar verdicts and settlements.  In November 2018, after a trial lasting weeks, a jury awarded Mr. Loughren's clients the highest verdict in a medical negligence case in Allegheny County in the past 20 years.  

Outside the practice of law, Mr. Loughren enjoys traveling around the world, reading, and songwriting.
