Karen M. Pollins

Karen M. Pollins is a partner at Goldblum, Pollins & Dennis in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, and heads the firm's Medical and Research team. Focusing her practice on employment-based immigration matters, she assists hospitals, healthcare systems and medical practices, as well as research institutions and pharmaceutical companies. Representing clients around the country, Ms. Pollins secures immigration benefits for foreign national physicians, scientists, educators and other professionals. Her experience encompasses H-1B, O-1, and other temporary visas; EB-1 and NIW immigrant petitions and other permanent residency matters; and waivers of the J-1 two year home residence requirement. Ms. Pollins also assists universities, corporations, and individuals seeking to immigrate through family-based petitions. 

Ms. Pollins has authored numerous articles published in a variety of sources on topics related to her practice area. Her publications have covered such matters as the alien labor certification process, the recruitment and employment of foreign physicians, and immigration options for foreign medical personnel. Ms. Pollins is frequently asked to deliver presentations on immigration topics to such groups as the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the University of Pennsylvania, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals, and the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers. Her professional memberships include the AILA (where she serves as Secretary of the Philadelphia Chapter), the IMG Taskforce, and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Pollins attended American University in the District of Columbia as an undergraduate, where she double majored in International Relations and Spanish/Latin American studies and received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude. Later deciding to pursue a legal education, she enrolled at Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree and received the Beth Cross Memorial Award.
