David E. Schwager uses his extensive knowledge and experience to represent clients in Scranton, Kingston, Wilkes-Barre and Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. His practice areas include the following: civil trial practice, estate administration, commercial litigation, business and corporate law, creditors’ rights, land use and zoning, title insurance and real estate.

Mr. Schwager served as the 126th president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and as Chair of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  An elected Fellow of the prestigious American College of Real Estate Lawyers, Mr. Schwager serves as Secretary of the Real Estate Litigation Committee and the Member Selection Committee of the College.

Admitted to practice in the state of Pennsylvania, Mr. Schwager is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He spent time as an assistant district attorney for Luzerne County, as solicitor to the Luzerne County Board of Assessment Appeals, and is a former legislative aide to the late United States Senator John Heinz.

Mr. Schwager attended Lafayette College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business, and government and law. A McKelvy Scholar at Lafayette who was on the executive committee of the Lafayette Alumni Council, he then earned his Juris Doctor from the Penn State Dickinson Law. He frequently shares his experience and knowledge with the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute through various seminars.

He has served as a member of the Board of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry, the Greater Wilkes-Barre Growth Partnership and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Industrial Fund. He has served as board member and treasurer of Ecumenical Enterprises and is a past president of the Friedman JCC, and the Wyoming Seminary Alumni Association, as well as a wide range of other organizations and charitable institutions.
