Attorney Profile

As a steadfast advocate for consumers, Cary L. Flitter has widespread success in cases involving issues such as debt collection. He regularly takes on banks, insurance companies, car dealers, finance companies and credit reporting agencies on behalf of people across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and around the country. Mr. Flitter is a founding partner of Flitter Milz, P.C., bringing more than 30 years of experience to the practice.

In 1976, Mr. Flitter earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science, currently known as Jefferson University. He then attended the Delaware Law School of Widener University, receiving a law degree in 1981. Continuing his education, he is a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Trial Lawyers College.

Mr. Flitter is highly regarded throughout the legal community. He holds an Avvo “Superb” rating; the Montgomery Bar Association has granted him its President’s Award and its Henry Stuckert Miller Public Service Award; the National Association of Consumer Advocates honored him as Consumer Advocate of the Year; he has earned the highest peer rating possible, AV Preeminent,* from Martindale-Hubbell; and the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network presented him with its Excellence Award.

The awards pale in comparison, however, to the satisfaction Mr. Flitter gets from helping clients overcome difficult situations. In negotiations, trial and appeals, he consistently recovers compensation for those who have been wronged. Some of his cases have resulted in groundbreaking laws that improve consumer protections.

Outside his practice, Mr. Flitter is an adjunct professor at Delaware Law School of Widener University and Temple University Beasley School of Law. He is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Association.

* AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ fall into two categories – legal ability and general ethical standards.
