A founding partner of the New Castle, Pennsylvania, law firm Luxenberg, Garbett, Kelly & George, P.C., Charles W. Garbett provides compassionate representation for individuals in the New Castle and Pittsburgh areas as well as throughout Western Pennsylvania. He lends nearly four decades of experience to a variety of personal injury cases, including birth injuries, medical malpractice and auto accidents, as well as workers' compensation cases. His firm has secured multiple seven- and eight-figure settlements on behalf of injured clients.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Garbett pursued his undergraduate studies at St. Vincent College in Latrobe before attending law school at Notre Dame, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1975; he graduated from both colleges with high honors. After his admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in the same year, he was admitted to the U.S. District Court for the state's Western District as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. In 1991, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Due to his service in the U.S. Army prior to his graduation from Notre Dame, Mr. Garbett is a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran who was awarded four medals, and his legal achievements are equally notable. He has been honored with the distinguished AV-Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and he is highly involved in his legal community as well, maintaining memberships in the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, among others.
Mr. Garbett is also firmly dedicated to the betterment of his community. He has been involved with the American Legion and Rotary Club and has helped young lawyers develop their skills as a Beaver County Mock Trial Competition attorney coach for the New Brighton and Riverside teams.
