Attorney Profile

As a partner at High Swartz LLP, Melissa “Missy” M. Boyd focuses her practice exclusively on divorce and other family law matters. She is based in the firm’s Norristown office, and she represents clients throughout the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania since 2001, Ms. Boyd is also admitted to practice in Maryland and New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Ms. Boyd attended Washington College in Maryland, and she majored in sociology with a minor in political science before receiving a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 1996. She then enrolled at the University of Baltimore School of Law, and she received several scholarships for her academic achievements and served multiple clerkships before graduating cum laude with her Juris Doctor in 1999.

Ms. Boyd joined High Swartz LLP in January 2004. Since that time, she has helped numerous clients whose marriages have come to an end, advising them on such divorce-related issues as child custody and visitation, the division of complex marital assets and financial obligations, and spousal and child support. Other family law matters that Ms. Boyd has handled have included the preparation and review of prenuptial and post-marital agreements, adoptions, and the representation of children and other victims of domestic abuse. Ms. Boyd has been appointed on several occasions to act as guardian ad litem on behalf of children who are the subject of high-conflict custody disputes, and she frequently is asked to deliver presentations to fellow attorneys on topics related to her practice area. She has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, and she holds an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo.
