Adam H. Garner is the founder of The Garner Firm, Ltd., a boutique employee benefits and employment law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He represents employee benefit plan participants and their dependents in all facets of ERISA and employee benefits litigation and employees in employment disputes against their current and former employers. Adam has appeared in state and federal courts throughout the United States, as well as before numerous federal, state, and local governmental agencies. Adam’s clients value his judgment, his ability to understand and explain these laws, and his forceful advocacy on their behalf.
Prior to founding The Garner Firm, Adam served as the Administrator of two large multiemployer employee benefit plans in the Philadelphia area, as well as the President and Chief Executive Officer of their captive third-party plan administration business, which administered several additional retirement and welfare plans in the Philadelphia area. Before going in-house, Adam represented plan sponsors, plan administrators and claims administrators in employee benefits litigation, as well as management in employment and traditional labor matters at a large international law firm.
Adam is a Senior Editor of the treatise Employee Benefits Law, Fourth Edition. He is also a subcommittee co-chair of the ABA’s Section of Labor and Employment Law Employee Benefits Committee and was the 2020-2021 chair of the ABA’s TIPS Health and Disability Insurance Committee. Adam frequently speaks on employee benefits and employment law topics.
