Charles J. Meyer is the managing shareholder at the domestic relations firm, Hofstein Weiner & Meyer, P.C. For more than 30 years, he has represented clients in all aspects of family law, including negotiations leading to prenuptial, postnuptial and co-habitation agreements, and the investigation and litigation of the financial and economic issues related to the dissolution of marriage, including child support, equitable distribution and alimony. Although he represents individuals in both routine and complex matters, his clients include high net worth individuals, professional athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and their spouses.
A native of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, Mr. Meyer received his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Temple University, and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law. Following law school, he served in the office of the District Attorney of New York County (Manhattan). Since leaving the district attorney’s office, Mr. Meyer has limited his practice to family law.
Recognized for his negotiation skills and advocacy, he has received the highest rating from Martindale Hubbell (AV) and has been selected as a SuperLawyer since the inception of the program. Mr. Meyer is named in Best Lawyers in America.
A fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1997, Mr. Meyer presently serves on the Board of Governors of the Academy. He formerly was the Co-Chair of the National Test Committee, and is a Past-President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the Academy.
Most recently, Mr. Meyer was admitted as a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, which is a select group of 100 of the top family law trial lawyers from across the United States. The ACFTL was formed in 1993 to bring together some of the best trial lawyers in America practicing sophisticated and complex family law and matrimonial matters. Diplomates, all members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, are chosen based upon their recognized litigation skills and courtroom abilities.
Mr. Meyer is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, having served as a council member of the Family Law Section, and the Montgomery Bar Association, where he served as a director (2010 - 2013). Mr. Meyer also previously served as a hearing officer for the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board.
Mr. Meyer served as Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association, as well as a member of its Board of Governors, Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention, Campaign for Qualified Judges, its Long Range Planning Committee, and Nominating Committee.
Outside of the practice of law, Mr. Meyer presently serves as a Board member of Boys Town Jerusalem for the Mid-Atlantic region.
Mr. Meyer frequently lectures and authors articles on significant and cutting-edge domestic relations and related litigation issues, including as a course planner and moderator for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the American Bar Association and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
