In 1980, Mr. Roth obtained a Bachelor of Arts in government from Franklin & Marshall College. Following this, he pursued a Juris Doctor at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, successfully obtaining it in 1983. A year later, he returned to law school to earn an LL.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bernard J. Goodheart at the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County.
Mr. Roth is authorized to practice in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.
With years of experience serving on The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, Mr. Roth is a seasoned legal professional. Throughout his career, Mr. Roth has secured substantial settlements and jury awards for his clients. He played a pivotal role as a lead trial lawyer in a case stemming from the tragic collapse of a building during demolition, which caused the loss of 19 lives and injuries to many others in the adjacent Salvation Army Thrift Store. Following a four-month-long testimony, the jury found the defendants liable, leading to a settlement of $227 million to compensate the victims and their families.
Mr. Roth’s other impressive results include a settlement of $8 million for a man who suffered a permanent brain injury due to oxygen delivery failure after an open-heart surgery. He also secured a $3.25 million settlement in a medical malpractice lawsuit involving improper anesthesia administration. Additionally, he obtained a $7.5 million recovery in a case involving a botched cesarean section.
