James A. Funt is a founding partner at Greenblatt, Pierce, Funt & Flores, a nationally recognized law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Haddonfield, New Jersey. Mr. Funt practices in the areas of blue collar and white collar criminal defense, civil rights, and plaintiffs-side class-action lawsuits and employment discrimination.
Mr. Funt earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, where he received several accolades for his excellence in trial advocacy. In the early 1990s, he served as an advocate for workers' rights while living in Mexico. He remains fluent in Spanish and maintains a strong Hispanic clientele in the tri-state area.
Mr. Funt is an accomplished litigator who has tried numerous complex cases before state and federal courts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Previously, he worked as a trial attorney with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where he gained significant trial experience. He was also involved in investigating and exposing civil liberty abuses by law enforcement. Mr. Funt then joined the area's premier labor and employment law firm, where he represented unions and employees in complex cases.
Today, Mr. Funt retains strong ties with prominent unions in the tri-state area including the Philadelphia Fire Fighters. He has been involved in a number of highly publicized employment and criminal cases since the firm's founding.
