Julie A. Uebler has over 25 years of experience as an employment attorney, and brings significant depth and breadth of experience to her representation of each client. Julie started her law career defending employers in employment matters, and then served as in-house employment and benefits counsel for a pharmaceutical company. Over the years, Julie has served as a neutral independent investigator of workplace issues, and is also a trained mediator. Today, Julie devotes her time to advocating for employees’ rights in the workplace and advising executives and professionals in transition.

Julie earned her undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University. She is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Julie has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and a “Top Lawyer for Labor Law” by Main Line Today, and has also earned a preeminent AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Julie lives in Berwyn, Pennsylvania with her husband, two daughters, and two Goldendoodles.

As a litigator, Ms. Uebler holds employers accountable for violating the rights of individual employees, and maximizes their legal remedies, by pursuing claims based on:

  • Discrimination (age, sex/gender, pregnancy, gender identity, familial status, marital status, race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, disability, sexual orientation, domestic or sexual violence victim status);
  • Harassment, including sexual harassment;
  • Retaliation, including whistleblower claims;
  • Wrongful termination;
  • Employee benefits, including ERISA,
  • Equity and/or executive compensation;
  • Breach of contract and other employment-related claims, such as violations of the wage and hour laws, and protections for family and medical or military leaves of absence.

Often, employment disputes can be resolved without litigation. Ms. Uebler regularly advises individual employees, professionals, and executives who are facing workplace disputes with a focus on protecting legal rights, maximizing opportunities, and minimizing disruption to career goals. As a powerful advocate, and a practical and thoughtful advisor, Ms. Uebler’s legal support can level the playing field when an individual is at odds with an employer, for example:

  • Assisting clients to proactively address and resolve employment problems, such as harassment on the job;
  • Working with clients to evaluate and request leaves of absence or accommodations for a disability;
  • Constructively addressing pay disparities, disparate treatment, or other discriminatory practices.

Ms. Uebler also advises and negotiates on behalf of executives and professionals who are facing employment transitions, including leveraging the best employment terms at the start of an employment relationship, and protecting rights and entitlements when employment ends.

Ms. Uebler graduated from Georgetown University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and went on to attend Georgetown University Law Center, where she was awarded her Juris Doctor cum laude in 1993. Admitted to practice before the state courts of Pennsylvania, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Ms. Uebler holds memberships in the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators and the National Employment Lawyers Association. She previously served on the board of directors of Women’s Way, a nonprofit organization located in Philadelphia.

The outstanding record of success demonstrated by Ms. Uebler on behalf of her clients includes a settlement reached in a constructive discharge claim she handled on behalf of the manager of a retail store who was forced to resign when his complaints of racial harassment were ignored by his employer. Her skills and legal knowledge in the areas of employment law and civil rights litigation make her a sought-after speaker, and she has also written extensively on the subjects for several professional publications. Ms. Uebler has also achieved an AV-Preeminent peer-review rating* through Martindale-Hubbell.
