  • I am part of the team that represents Appellant/Plaintiff in Hangey v. Husqvarna, currently before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. I was heavily involved in the brief writing and strategic planning of the arguments on all levels of this matter.  Hangey has been identified as one of the most impactful Superior Court decisions involving the application of the venue standards in Pennsylvania.  Appeal was taken by Plaintiff after the Philadelphia trial court found venue in Philadelphia was improper.  After a Superior Court three judge panel reversed the trial court's decision, Appellee/Defendant sought a hearing before an en banc panel.  This En Banc panel ruled in favor of Appellant/Plaintiff in a 7-2 decision.  As stated above, the Hangey matter's ruling will have long-lasting effects should the Supreme Court deny the application or affirm the en banc panel.   This matter continues to receive attention from both Plaintiff and Defense attorneys has the impact of the ruling could hold major implications as to when venue is appropriate and provide future plaintiffs important legal support when arguing venue in Pennsylvania courts.  To illustrate the impact, prior to the en banc ruling, a national defense organization listed this matter as the "case to watch" in Pennsylvania., 2022
