Dr. Aussprung also recently obtained a $15 million settlement for a workplace injury involving a fall and $7,200,000 for a workplace injury resulting in a below-th-knee amputation. He has litigated cases against the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Jefferson University Hospital, Hershey Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, York Hospital, Lancaster General Hospital, Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allegheny General Hospital, and Indiana Regional Medical Center, as well as many others throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. One of his cases ended up being the largest death case verdict in Lackawanna County, with a $2.7 million verdict for the family of a woman who died after an elective surgery. He won a $2,200,000 verdict in a delay of diagnosis of breast cancer case.
Dr. Aussprung has a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Before attending law school, he earned a bachelor’s from the University of Virginia and graduated from Jefferson Medical College as a medical doctor. He was a board-certified physician in pediatrics for 14 years and has practiced law for over 20 years. After his graduation from law school, he also obtained a further post-graduate legal degree, LL.M., in trial advocacy from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Dr. Aussprung is a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine and served on its Board of Governors for 6 years. He is also a founding member of the American Academy of Legal Medicine and is the current Treasurer and serves on its Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
