Michael Murphy

In 2013, Michael Murphy established the Murphy Law Group to exclusively safeguard workers' rights in Chester and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. He possesses comprehensive knowledge of the intricacies and vulnerabilities of employment disputes. He has successfully litigated claims under various enactments, involving:

He is adept at class and collective action certification, managing class notifications, litigating wage and hour disputes, conducting class member depositions, assessing damages and achieving successful settlements, having recovered millions for employees.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Murphy provides strategic counseling to employees on employment contract negotiations, noncompetition agreements, and severance package review and negotiation. He extends his legal guidance to executives and physicians negotiating initial and renewed employment contracts.

A 2000 graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton, he later earned his J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School in 2003. He was recognized as a Widener Scholar during law school and graduated at the top of his class.

Outside his law practice, Mr. Murphy is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. A prolific writer on employment-related subjects, he has contributed to legal discourse, offered commentary for media outlets and participated as a speaker at bar association events, continuing education programs and HR-related gatherings.
