Stephen T. O'Hanlon

Stephen T. O'Hanlon is the founder of his own firm O'Hanlon Schwartz, P.C., located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Providing representation to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area, he divides his practice among criminal defense, employee workplace discrimination and civil rights law. Mr. O'Hanlon is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.

Mr. O'Hanlon defends people who have been charged with misdemeanors or felonies, and his representation starts with pretrial hearings and goes through trials and, if necessary, appeals. The types of cases that he has experience in include driving under the influence, drug possession and distribution, assault and other violent crimes, weapons violations, theft and homicide. In his employment law practice, he assists people who have been discriminated against due to their disability, pregnancy, race, gender, religion or national origin. Mr. O'Hanlon's civil rights cases have included police brutality and First Amendment violations. Mr. O'Hanlon holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and philosophy from Trinity College Dublin. After receiving a master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2004, he came to the United States for his legal education and enrolled at the Temple University Beasley School of Law. While he was there, Mr. O'Hanlon served on the Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2008.
