Timothy J. Tarpey

Timothy J. Tarpey is an attorney at Parkinson, Tarpey & Lloyd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Tarpey devotes his entire practice to criminal defense law, litigating matters involving assault, attempted murder, drugs, firearm violations, fraud, federal criminal law, sex offenses, theft, white collar crimes, and other misdemeanors and felonies. He serves clients throughout the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

A Philadelphia native, Mr. Tarpey has more than 15 years of experience and is a seasoned litigator. Over the course of his legal career, he has litigated thousands of cases at the trial and appellate levels in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Mr. Tarpey holds a license to practice law in all Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to focusing his practice on criminal defense, he served as an assistant district attorney and practiced in courts including felony waiver court, juvenile court and municipal court. He uses the knowledge gained while in this role to provide the best possible defense to his clients.

Recognized for his outstanding litigation skills, The National Trial Lawyers named Mr. Tarpey one of the “Top 100.” Newsweek magazine also acknowledged him as one of the “top 14 criminal defense attorneys.”

Mr. Tarpey received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Villanova University and participated in a research fellowship with the university. He earned his law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law. He is a certified fraud examiner and has successfully passed several Financial Industry Regulatory Authority exams.
