At Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Mr. Baker graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Mathematics and History in 2013. He then went on to law school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he graduated cum laude with a concentration in tax law in 2016.
During law school, Mr. Baker earned the distinction of serving on the Law Review as a senior editor and published his student note on corporate rights. He volunteered his time with the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project and interned for Judge David Cercone of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
After graduation, Mr. Baker worked at law firms promoting workers’ rights addressing union disputes and workers’ compensation claims. He then joined the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender, where he represented clients before local magistrates, at trial, and beyond – including appellate cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Superior Court.
Outside of Sikov and Love, Mr. Baker maintains an active presence in the legal and broader community. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Hay-Sell Pittsburgh American Inn of Court. He has undertaken responsibilities with the Young Lawyers Division to the Allegheny County Bar Association as treasurer, councilmember, and a co-chair on multiple committees. From 2022 to 2023, he served on the board for the Community for Pittsburgh Ultimate – a nonprofit, recreational organization.
