Jason E. Matzus

Jason E. Matzus founded Matzus Law LLC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to serve clients throughout Pennsylvania who have been harmed by the negligence of others. The types of personal injury cases he accepts include medical malpractice, construction site accidents, motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, defective products and premises liability. Mr. Matzus is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

After graduating magna cum laude from Gettysburg College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and economics, Mr. Matzus attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1995. He is a past president of the Pennsylvania Association of Justice, one of the largest and most pre-eminent trial lawyer organiztions in the country, and a member of the prestigous Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. Mr. Matzus has been recently named the The Pittsburgh Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year for 2018 by Best Lawyers and he has consistently been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer: Top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and Top 50 Pittsburgh Super Lawyer, and a Top 100 Trail Lawyer by the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Matzus is also a member and former president of the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Matzus has received a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and is frequently asked to speak at legal seminars on topics such as personal injury trial strategy and tactics, insurance law and trial presentation techniques. In addition, he is actively involved with his community, and he was the founding chairperson of an annual race benefiting the Pittsburgh SteelWheelers, a charitable organization supporting wheelchair athletes.
