He earned his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University in 1987 and his law degree from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University in 1990. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in the same year.
