Robert Raver

Attorney Robert D. Raver is a founding member of Raver Rawlings Law Group PLLC. Bob concentrates his practice exclusively on family law, serving clients in Allegheny County and the greater Western Pennsylvania area. He provides committed and thoughtful representation while aggressively advocating for his clients' needs when necessary.

Bob has extensive legal experience handling all types of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and paternity. He focuses heavily on complex equitable distribution and support matters, frequently handling high-net-worth cases involving executive compensation packages, business valuations, professional practices, deferred compensation, and intricate tax and asset-tracing issues. In addition to being a talented litigator equipped to handle complex courtroom disputes, he is highly experienced in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation, for clients who prefer a less adversarial approach to resolving sensitive family-related legal issues.

A recognized leader in his field, Bob was appointed to the Joint State Government Commission’s Advisory Committee on Domestic Relations Law. He was also recently elected to the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section’s Council.  Alongside his statewide leadership roles, Bob is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of legal talent. This fall, he will return to his alma mater to join the faculty at Duquesne University School of Law, where he will teach Family Law.

Throughout his career, Bob has frequently written and spoken on family law topics at legal conferences and seminars, including at the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section, Allegheny County Bar Association, Penn State University, Community College of Allegheny County, Duquesne University, the Butler County Bar Association, for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and to West Virginia family law judges.  He is also an involved member of the Duquesne Law Alumni Association and the Matrimonial American Inns of Court. 

Bob lives in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and their two children (and Great Dane and Maine Coon), where he can often be found cheering them on at their sporting events on weeknights and weekends.
