The founder of his own law firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Stanton D. Levenson focuses his practice exclusively on criminal defense matters. He provides astute and skilled representation to clients who have been charged with misdemeanors or felonies by the commonwealth or federal government. The types of cases that Mr. Levenson has extensive experience in include drug possession, distribution and trafficking, and sex crimes such as rape, assault, indecent exposure and possession of child pornography. In addition, Mr. Levenson defends both professionals and non-professionals who have been accused of such white-collar crimes as Medicare and insurance fraud and embezzlement. He has been able to obtain acquittals in many of these cases, and in others, he has successfully negotiated favorable plea agreements with the prosecution.
Mr. Levenson attended the University of Pittsburgh as an undergraduate, and he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1963. Remaining on campus, he pursued his legal education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1966. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Mr. Levenson is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd, 4th and 10th Circuits; and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Levenson has been an active participant in numerous professional organizations. He has served on the board of governors of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, and he is a former vice president of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Active in his community as well, Mr. Levenson has been a member of the board of the organization formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
