Timothy D. Belt

Timothy D. Belt is the founding attorney and managing partner of The Belt Law Firm, PC, in Pittston, Pennsylvania. He focuses his practice on workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation matters. Based in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, he has represented injured workers and employees for more than two decades, providing knowledgeable advocacy and practical guidance to clients navigating complex benefit systems.

Mr. Belt has resided primarily in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre region since 1985. He graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School before earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Ozarks in 1996, graduating summa cum laude with a major in mathematics. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law in 1999 and shortly thereafter began practicing law in the Wilkes-Barre area.

Known for his depth of knowledge in workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation matters, Mr. Belt is a frequent speaker on workers’ compensation issues for business groups, labor organizations and unions. His ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts has made him a trusted resource for both clients and professional audiences.

Mr. Belt is actively involved in the legal community as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Luzerne County Bar Association and the Wyoming/Sullivan County Bar Association. In addition, he is affiliated with Wyoming County CARES, reflecting his ongoing commitment to community involvement.

Mr. Belt is certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law, as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, a distinction he earned in 2013. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
