Mary C. Schemery

From the law firm of Schemery Zicolello in Williamsport and Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, founding partner Mary C. Schemery represents clients in courtrooms throughout the state who are facing workers’ compensation issues. She is admitted to practice law before all the state courts of Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

A person who is injured on the job typically has recourse for financial benefits through his or her employer’s workers’ compensation insurance. These are designed to cover medical expenses and a portion of missed wages. However, problems sometimes arise during the claims process. For more than three decades, Ms. Schemery has dedicated her knowledge of workers’ compensation law to the service of employees who have been treated unfairly by employers and insurance companies. She restricts her practice solely to the litigation of these cases.

Ms. Schemery’s professional memberships include the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section, the Lycoming Law Association, the American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute. She is also a member of The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Hearing Committee. To prevent organizations, employers and insurance companies from mistreating injured workers out of ignorance, Ms. Schemery often speaks to these groups on workers’ compensation law.

Before beginning her prestigious career, Ms. Schemery earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1982 from Bucknell University. She then went on to graduate from The Dickinson School of Law with her Juris Doctor in 1985.
