As a co-founder of the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm, Matthew T. Marin works hard to defend those who are facing criminal charges in the Providence and Newport, Rhode Island, areas. Mr. Marin obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a master’s degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island and a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and 10th in his class. While in law school, Mr. Marin received CALI awards in the subjects of property, advanced trial advocacy, Rhode Island civil procedure, business organizations, and public interest law and ethics.

While still pursuing his legal education, Mr. Marin worked for the State of Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, prosecuting probation and bail violation cases in Providence courts. He also prosecuted cases for the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal, successfully obtaining convictions of five defendants charged with refusing breath tests.

Attorney Marin is actively involved in representing clients across a range of significant pharmaceutical and toxic exposure cases. These include claims related to injuries caused by Depo-Provera, where prolonged use has been linked to meningiomas and other brain tumors, as detailed in the Depo-Provera Meningiomas Lawsuit.
