As a co-founder of the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm, Matthew T. Marin works hard to defend those who are facing criminal charges in the Providence and Newport, Rhode Island, areas. Mr. Marin obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a master’s degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island and a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and 10th in his class. While in law school, Mr. Marin received CALI awards in the subjects of property, advanced trial advocacy, Rhode Island civil procedure, business organizations, and public interest law and ethics.

While still pursuing his legal education, Mr. Marin worked for the State of Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, prosecuting probation and bail violation cases in Providence courts. He also prosecuted cases for the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal, successfully obtaining convictions of five defendants charged with refusing breath tests.

Attorney Marin is also highly involved in assisting victims of Camp Lejeune water contamination file Camp Lejeune lawsuits to recover financial compensation for injuries sustained as a result of exposure to toxic chemicals.  Victims have been diagnosed with cancer and disease including birth defects, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, leukemia, miscarriage, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes including aplastic anemia, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.  Additionally, Attorney Marin is representing individuals whose loved ones have passed away due to a cancer or disease caused by the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune.  These individuals, with the help of Camp Lejeune lawyer, can file wrongful death claims to recover financial compensation on their loved ones behalf.
