Founder and owner of the law firm of Brett V. Beaubien, Esquire, in Providence, Rhode Island, attorney Brett Beaubien has been helping clients tackle their criminal and family law matters for the past five years. Additionally, he represents clients in appeals and post-conviction relief cases.
With a commitment to establishing truth and justice, Mr. Beaubien aggressively defends his clients’ rights in the state and federal courts across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Mr. Beaubien obtained his B.S. in business administration from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to attending law school to get his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law, he managed hundreds of staff in a fast-paced restaurant. During his time in law school, he received the prestigious CALI Excellence for the Future Award in criminal litigation and appellate advocacy.
Mr. Beaubien also interned with the Defense Institute of International Legal Studies at Naval Station Newport and the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps in Sicily, Italy. He won the Esther Clark Moot Court Competition for Appellate Advocacy in 2014. As a student attorney through the Criminal Defense Clinic, he represented destitute individuals before the Rhode Island District Court and the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal.
With a qualification to practice in all courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Mr. Beaubien has appeared before the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit. He is a planning board member of the town of Warren and the treasurer of the Rhode Island Legal Education Foundation.
Mr. Beaubien belongs to the Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He has received an “Excellent” rating from Avvo. A highly committed community member, he supports the Rhode Island Legal Education Foundation by serving as an officer on the board.
