Joseph V. Cavanagh, Jr.

Co-founder and partner at Blish & Cavanagh, LLP, Joseph V. Cavanagh Jr. represents clients in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. With almost five decades of experience, he focuses on patent law, medical malpractice, personal injury, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, employment law, sexual harassment, products liability, libel, antitrust and civil litigation.

Admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Mr. Cavanagh is also admitted to practice before several federal courts. These include the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. For more than 20 years, Chambers USA recognized him as an outstanding litigator, and he was named to the Best Lawyers in America list.

Mr. Cavanagh earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College before moving on to law school at Boston College Law School, from which he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree. He is also AV Preeminent peer-review rated,* the highest rating, through Martindale-Hubbell.
