  • $3.8 million jury verdict in the Bristol County Superior Courthouse in New Bedford, MA, following a seven-day trial in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case., 2019
  • $32 million jury verdict and judgment in three-week trial in Providence County Superior Court, involving a man who became paralyzed due to a swimming accident., 2018
  • Medical malpractice jury verdict of $2.5 million in a case involving the preventable death of a newborn. The jury found that a midwife and the hospital negligently treated a young woman in labor and caused the death of her child.  Arriaza v. Women & Infants Hospital.
  • A mid-trial settlement of $1 million for the victim of a negligent truck driver.  The plaintiff was severely injured when a delivery truck pulled out in front of the car, resulting in numerous broken bones and orthopedic surgeries.
  • A $1.8 million settlement for the family of a deceased man who was discharged from an emergency department with clear signs of a heart attack.
  • A settlement of $1 million in a birth-injury case resulting in a permanent nerve injury to a child's arm and hand.  The midwives taking care of the mother failed to deliver a very large baby by cesarean section, resulting in severe and permanent nerve damage to a young boy.  
  • A mid-trial settlement of $2.5 million on behalf of a developmentally disabled adult who was sexually assaulted by a service provider.
  • A settlement of $3.3 million in a medical malpractice case involving permanent brain injury resulting from a hospital-acquired infection of the central nervous system.

  • Handicapped and brain-injured children, victims of medical negligence, families that have lost loved ones due to another person's negligence, traumatic brain injury victims, and other clients with serious personal injury claims.
Pro bono/Community Service:
  • As a public member of the Rhode Island Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, Mr. Barry served on the state board that licenses and regulates physicians in Rhode Island. The Board is called upon to investigate and make findings in formal administrative complaints filed against physicians. Sanctions range from reprimand to revocation of license to practice medicine. While serving in this position, Mr. Barry used the same medical knowledge and analytical skill he employs in his medical negligence practice. Mr. Barry also currently serves on the board of the East Bay Food Pantry, which serves over 1,500 Rhode Island households (more than 5,000 individuals, 1,500 being children) with food distribution and meaningful community-based programs. The food pantry and thrift shop are located in Bristol, RI, where Mr. Barry lives with his wife and children.
