Sonja L. Deyoe

Sonja L. Deyoe is the founding attorney of the Law Offices of Sonja Deyoe P.C. She predominantly handles employment law cases of the residents from Providence and Warwick, Rhode Island, and Fall River, Massachusetts. She is a civil attorney who exclusively concentrates on cases involving labor, wages, hours, personal injury issues and other employment-related matters. With over 20 years of experience, she is currently licensed to practice law in the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. 

Ms. Deyoe has a bachelor's degree in psychology from The State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland. She received her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2000. While at law school, she clerked for Magistrate Justice Jacob Hagopian at the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island and after graduating, she fulfilled brief stints as a law clerk at the State of Connecticut Superior Court systems. Her passion for safeguarding the rights of workers is well-recognized by her peers and clients, as evidenced by the many positive client testimonials she hosts.

Acknowledged for her outstanding commitment to the field of employment law, Ms. Deyoe was named a fellow by the Rhode Island Bar Association in 2019 and was given the “Lawyer of the Year” title in 2018 by the Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly magazine. 

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Deyoe dedicates time to writing and speaking about her practice areas. A published author, she has written a chapter for the “Litigating Tort Cases” book published by the American Association for Justice Press and the “A Practical Guide to Discovery and Depositions in Rhode Island” book released by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. She also spends time mentoring students at the Graduate Studies Division at Nichols College and William Peace University as an adjunct faculty member.
