In April of 2013, Attorney Abilheira successfully argued State of Rhode Island v. Doris Poulin before the Rhode Island Supreme Court. This decision set a precedent, allowing defendants the ability to seal future criminal charges, even though they had previously pled nolo contendere to a felony and received probation. Attorney Abilheira is a dedicated expungement lawyer, and works tirelessly to help individuals clear their criminal record.
Prior to becoming a defense attorney, Attorney Abilheira prosecuted criminal offenses under the Town Solicitor in Charlestown and East Providence.
