Jennifer Spragins Burnett

Managing partner at Anderson, South Carolina-based Harbin & Burnett, Jennifer Spragins Burnett focuses her practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. She assists clients throughout the area who have been the victims of professional negligence, including medical malpractice, and she also represents people and their family members who have been harmed by nursing home neglect or abuse. Ms. Burnett has obtained sizable settlements and jury verdicts during her career as a plaintiff's attorney, and as a result, she is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an invitation-only group in which the membership is limited to attorneys who have won million- and multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements.

As an undergraduate, Ms. Burnett attended the College of Charleston in South Carolina, with a double major in French and psychology. She received a Bachelor of Science magna cum laude from that institution in 1996. Remaining in the state, she then decided to pursue a legal education and enrolled at the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she received several academic honors before being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2001. After clerking for a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, Ms. Burnett joined a personal injury defense firm, where she focused her practice on the representation of nursing home facilities and personnel in abuse cases. She joined her current firm in 2007.

Ms. Burnett is admitted to practice in South Carolina and before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. Highly regarded by her fellow attorneys, she has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and she has also been named to Best Lawyers in 2021 and 2022 and The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40.
