After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University, Mr. Jennings attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1982. Admitted to practice in South Carolina, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Prior to entering private practice in 1984, Mr. Jennings was an assistant solicitor for the 4th Judicial Circuit of South Carolina, helping to prosecute criminal cases in Dillon County, Marlboro County, Darlington County, Chesterfield County and surrounding areas. A member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1991 until 2010, he served on its Judiciary Committee and is the former chairman of that committee's Criminal Laws Subcommittee and Special Laws Subcommittee.

Due to his experience and track record, Mr. Jennings has frequently been asked to give presentations at various continuing legal education programs and has authored articles for legal publications. A recipient of the Compleat Lawyer Award from the University of South Carolina Law School Alumni Association, he has been named Legislator of the Year by both the South Carolina Department of Revenue and the South Carolina Troopers Association. Mr. Jennings gives further of his time unselfishly to his community in a variety of ways.  He was a founding member of Executive Committee and Board of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA), an economic development organization that serves a nine-county region in the northeast corner of South Carolina.
